Checkpoint 2 (aka Bluelands or Holodeck) is the checkpoint after Checkpoint 1 and before Checkpoint 3. It is the third and officially second checkpoint. It was also the first checkpoint to ever have two bosses.
In Version 0.8.0, Checkpoint 2 was used as Checkpoint 1 (Version 0.8.0).
Description[]
This checkpoint has a slightly large increase in difficulty in comparison to the last two checkpoints. New difficult obstacles are introduced and a new game-play element is added - which is speed.
This checkpoint's color scheme is made dominantly similar to the color of Checkpoint 1. but for the color being turquoise, there are obviously blue stone blocks and blue-looking glass obstacles or additionally, indigo.
Introductions[]
Obstacles[]
Checkpoint 2 introduces a few new obstacles which are slightly harder to smash and get past than previous checkpoints.
- Encountered here is a new variant of the Sliding Glass Panes. They are replaced with shifting glass panes, which, instead of sliding continuously, will shift in short, regular intervals.
- Pop Up Glass Sheets are also encountered, which are large sheets of glass that immediately spring up when the player is in close distance, appearing either the floor or the ceiling.
- Another variation on the glass bar (a belt) is added in zone 3.
- 2 bladed propellers are a little added just like spinning thick glass propellers.
- Swinging Hammers are encountered.
- But don't get crashed! The Glass Cannons will always crash you!
- And last, Pop Up/Down Glass Panes are encountered. They will be after the 2 shifting glass panes. They pop down and up fast!
Other introductions[]
Speed[]
A new game-play mechanic, speed, is also introduced, which determines the speed the player travels at. In the first and third segments, the speed is set to faster than normal. In the fourth, it is set to slower than normal.
Segments[]
Only the second, third, fifth, and eleventh checkpoints are comprised of four segments.
Boss fights[]
At the boss battle of this checkpoint, there are 2 single cell bosses, which could surely be a sign that there would be a bigger boss at the next level.

Mediocre posted screenshots of Smash Hit on their blog "First Screenshots of Smash Hit". One of them was a fake Checkpoint 2, with one of the Pop Up Glass Sheets halfway up, and being broken with balls.
Statistics[]
- 37 balls
- 18 other balls (gained from the blue ball-gaining Power Up)
- Score of 1400 (potential 1500, with the purple Pyramidal Crystal being smashed)
It has its own page called Checkpoint 2 (Teaser).
Old Bonus Room[]
In Smash Hit's files, there is an old version of the room "bonus" (the last room). See Old 2-4 for more info.
Version 0.9.0[]
Checkpoint 2 had some differences in version 0.9.0, most notably the Time Slow.

Trivia[]
- Checkpoint 2 also appears in the Buzzfeed page 13 Things You'll Only Understand If You Play Smash Hit, followed by a smiling gif.
- More examples include the enjoyment of Infinite Balls, as well as a point on the player's relief after breaking one of many Pop Up Glass Sheets.
- When the 4 Infinite Balls (from the beginning to CP2 stage 3) are all collected and not used, that will be the maximum number of Power Ups available in your stash. The two Infinite Balls before the 6 Pyramidal Crystals (or 8 in the old bonus room) will then displace the first two Infinite Balls in your stash, as it can only hold 4 at a time.
- This checkpoint's music is famous across different games, and liked by many users.
- The Stage 1 music is shared with the hidden "Smash Hit" area in the DOES NOT Commute City area, a roblox audio id also uses this music.
- Stage 3's music is liked by many users. Apparently it's been uploaded to Roblox as well: https://www.roblox.com/library/1444071994/Smash-Hit-CP2-Z3
- Stage 4 shares its music with Zen Mode.
- Stage 2 and 4 has lots of crystals (i.e. Break Point)
- This boss has no crystals.
- This is the first checkpoint where it is possible to encounter the Random Rooms Glitch.
- This was the first stage to have more than 3 stages , the other stages were Checkpoint 3, Checkpoint 5 and Checkpoint 11. However, Checkpoints 6 and 10 were often mistaken to have 4 stages, most likely due to the 2nd part of one of the stages in those checkpoints having a different music and layout to the 1st part of the stage of those checkpoints.
- The checkpoint was used as Checkpoint 1 (Version 0.8.0).
- Stage 1 is reflected on the Mediocre logo on the Loading Screen.
- Checkpoint 2 is also in the background for the loading screen in Version 0.9.0.
Before Version 0.8.0[]
Before Version 0.8.0, Checkpoint 2 was used in teaser screenshots, along with the Introductory Stage and the Unknown Checkpoint. It also had an iteration called Old Holodeck, along with other pre-0.8.0 builds like Old Canyon and the Work Segments.
